Dr. Segun Adebayo, Executive Director of the Centre for African Policy Research and Advisory (CAfPRA), speaks at the African Bar Association Annual Conference 2026 in Cabo Verde on the emerging threats to Africa’s resilience.

In his address, Dr Adebayo outlines the seven key areas:
1. Identity
2. Family
3. Food systems
4. Health
5. Environment
6. Economy
7. Posterity (our future)
He argues that Africa must develop its own strategies of self-preservation rather than relying on external frameworks, and calls on African lawyers and policymakers to take proactive responsibility.
