Resisting GMOs: Protecting Ghana’s Food Sovereignty

The Executive Director for the Center for African Policy Research and Advisory, Dr. Segun Adebayo, has called on African leaders to address educational and brain drain issues confronting Africa.

Addressing the media in a press conference, Dr. Adebayo noted that Africa, for a very long time consume what it does not produce and produces what it does not consume.

According to him, most of our education system in Africa is influenced by Europeans to the extent that most of our graduates graduate to go and teach in Europe.

He indicated that graduates have no interest in utilizing their education in promoting Africa’s development, but rather focus on traveling abroad to work.

According to him, some of the GMOs have been banned from so many countries, including Mexico, due to the bad products and seedlings they provide.

He called on all Ghanaians and Africans to come together to unify our boards and strengthen our educational systems.

Dr. Segun Adebayo also urged African leaders to invest more in research and technology inventions because the more research is done on the products we receive from foreign countries, it helps us to authenticate their quality.
