A Bill to Allow the Participation of Candidates Who Are not Sponsored by Political Parties in Presidential, Governorship, National Assembly, State Houses of Assembly and Local Government Councils’ Elections.
This Bill seeks to alter the provisions of Sections 7, 65, 106, 131,177, 221, and 228 of the Constitution to allow a person to run for elective office without the need to join a political party and be sponsored by it for the election.
In such a case, such a person will run as an “independent candidate” to contest for elective positions at all levels.
