Policy Engagement at the Presidential Villa: CAfPRA Strengthens Policy Advocacy on Food Security

At the center of this engagement was the Presidential Food Systems Coordinating Unit (PFSCU). This advisory body reports directly to the President on matters relating to food and nutrition security. The Unit is headed by Ms. Marion Moon, with whom CEFSAR and CAfPRA established direct contact, thereby expanding civil society and legislative linkage into Nigeria’s topmost policy space.

The delegation pursued three strategic objectives:

  1. Policy Intelligence: Understudying the direction of the Presidency’s food security framework.
  2. Stakeholder Networking: Building relationships with members of the Presidential Team to ensure inclusive policy dialogue.
  3. Advocacy Penetration: Positioning food sovereignty, sustainable agriculture, and anti-GMO perspectives within the national policy conversation.

This engagement represents a policy breakthrough. By gaining entry into the Presidential Villa’s food policy architecture.
